The event that started it all! This was our inaugural community event and was the catalyst for EmpowerNet as an organization. Inspired by a need for wellness education in the Black community, this was a chance for entrepreneurs in the health and wellness space to get noticed and gain visibility. This expo led us to want to create other opportunities for small business owners to be seen and provide access to information that would help them grow as business owners and thus, EmpowerNet was born!
The very 1st Kidpreneur event we hosted was filled with talented young business owners and creativity through the roof. Kids in the community came out to show off their businesses and got a chance to act as mini moguls for the day. It was an amazing success and led us to focus more on youth programs. The Kidpreneur event has now become a full-fledged youth financial literacy and creative program that will allow us to plant essential seeds into the future leaders of tomorrow.
We stopped by CBS 19 studios to chat with them about the beginning of Kidpreneur, what the public could expect to see there and its benefits for the youth.
We set out with the intent to showcase talented youth at our Kidpreneur Business Expo. Everything from clothing brands to Aguas Frescas were sold and the kids got to enjoy themselves while making a profit.
